Jane Nauss, Chair

Jane Nauss is currently Acting Manager of HRM's Community Response Team and has been a member of CPSNS for many years. Jane's role with HRM is to help communities - both residents and business - feel safe from crime, or fear of crime. Accordingly, Jane's involvement with CPSNS is an extension of her drive to create safe communities. Jane has been with HRM since amalgamation (1996) and prior to that time worked for the former Town of Bedford and the Cities of Halifax and Dartmouth.


Francis Smith, Secretary

CSt. Francis Smith is the Community Policing Officer with the Amherst Police Dept for the past 7 years. He has worked with Amherst since 1977 and prior to that he worked with the Trenton Police Department, where he grew up as a youth. He has been involved with CPSNS for the past 6 years and has held the position of Secretary since 2006. He is looking forward to working with the new executive and CPSNS members . Working together we can move this organization to a whole new level, serving our community serving  our Province.
